DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

220408Z Akshar Development, LLC., Paresh Patel, 10832 SW 91st Avenue, Ocala, FL 34481, request a Zoning Change, Articles 2 and 4, of the Marion County Land Development Code, from A-1 (General Agriculture) and B-2 (Community Business) to PUD (Planned Unit Development), for a proposed 314-unit Apartment Complex with onsite amenities (The Vue), on an approximate 19.65 Acre Parcel, on Parcel Number 35636-002-00.

 

The applicant provided communication on April 9, 2022 seeking a continuance to May 17, 2022, and again on May 2, 2022 seeking a continuance to June 21, 2022. They are considering project changes in light of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) improvements at SR 200 and SW 80th Avenue. Staff supports this request believing that improved access in and around the proposed project can be achieved.

Recommended action

This item was continued from the April 19, 2022 BCC/P&Z Public Hearing at the applicant’s request. The applicant is requesting to continue this item until the June 21, 2022 BCC/P&Z Public Hearing at 2:00 p.m. Both Staff and the P&Z Commission recommend approval of the requested rezoning with development conditions.
