DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On January 20, 2026, the Board approved the Grant Agreement Number FM 1210 between the State of Florida Department of Financial Services and the Marion County Board of County Commissioners for the sustainment of Florida’s fire specialty teams, specifically Urban Search & Rescue (US&R).
Purchase Order 2601080 was subsequently issued utilizing these grant funds for the purchase of a rescue boat, trailer, and motor pursuant to the terms of Grant Agreement Number FM 1210, Appendix 1.
Change Order 1, presented today for ratification, is necessary to encumber additional funds for 30 horsepower (hp) motors, as 25hp motors were incorrectly specified on the original quote. Grant funds must be fully expended by June 30, 2026, after which any unspent funds will expire.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; additional expenditure of $7,626, bringing the total amount of the purchase order to $86,792. Funding comes from grant revenue in line EF300522-564101 (Fire, Rescue, and EMS Fund).
