DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On February 18, 2025, the Board approved a contract with Daly & Zilch, Inc. for general improvements at Rotary Sportsplex Field including, but not limited to, tree removal, grading, utility and stormwater infrastructure, paving, landscaping, and other improvements in the conversion of two (2) natural fields to synthetic turf.

 

The prior 11 change orders for this project primarily addressed necessary adjustments to field conditions, scope, and schedule to support operational requirements at the Rotary Sportsplex. These included utility modifications due to differing site conditions, fencing revisions (resulting in a net deduction), and various enhancements funded through available contingency (such as electrical improvements, signage, safety features, landscaping, and additional sod), as well as a funding source adjustment.

 

Change Order 12 is being presented to increase funding to cover the cost of an entry sign at Rotary Sportsplex. This sign is part of a sponsorship agreement between Marion County, AdventHealth, and the Tourist Development Council.

 

The change order is attached for review. Upon approval at today’s meeting, it will be presented to the Chairman for signature.

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Neutral; additional expenditure of $59,609.55, bringing the total purchase order amount to $2,121,289.74. Funding is from AA361572-563102 (General Fund).

Recommended action

Motion to approve the change order, authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute, and allow staff to issue the change order to Daly & Zilch, Inc., LLC under 25B-009.
