DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Medical Examiner's staff was awarded the Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Grant that is awarded by the National Institute of Justice, in the amount of $4,905.47. Funding is provided for July 1, 2026, and ends June 30, 2027. Due to different fiscal years, the award is being recognized for this fiscal year to allow for time to make the purchases, with IT approval, for cameras, SD cards, USB drive and a drying cabinet. These funds are only recognized as awarded by the State.
