DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County Information Technology has advised that the large UPS units at the stations require replacement battery cartridges. The Finance Department has clarified that these purchases should not be coded to Operating Supplies and must instead be categorized as Operating Supplies - Computer Hardware. To align with this guidance, funds are being reallocated from Operating Supplies to Operating Supplies - Computer Hardware so the stations can be outfitted with new battery cartridges.
Because the updated coding guidance was provided in March 2026, after the FY 2026-27 budget submission, it will likely affect the budget for FY 2026-27.
