DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The current expenditure budget appropriation is inadequate because a change in construction requirements occurred during the installation of the floating dock system at the Heagy Burry Boat Ramp project. During construction, it was determined that the originally specified 6-inch diameter wood dock pilings must be replaced with 10-inch diameter steel dock pilings in order to meet structural and installation requirements for the floating dock system. This modification requires additional labor, materials, and retrofitting of the floating dock system. The change order also includes a credit associated with the removal of the original Bid Line Item 36 that specified the wood piling installation. Because this modification was not included in the original project budget, additional funding is required to complete the work.
