DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On December 16, 2025, the Board approved contracts with multiple contractors to provide services that include maintenance and sinkhole repairs. A task order was issued for subsurface remediation at the Martel Landfill Drainage Retention Areas (DRAs).

 

The work will include excavation and backfilling of surface depressions, placement and compaction of fill, removal and replacement of shallow limestone, remediation of potential chimney features and subsurface voids, erosion control measures, and restoration of disturbed areas with Bahia sod. Solid Waste Director, Mark Johnson, is recommending approval of the task order to Hartman Civil Construction Company, Inc., the lowest pre-qualified bidder is shown in the tabulation below:

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Neutral; expenditure of $133,785. Funding comes from ZA423534-563101 (Solid Waste Disposal Fund).

Recommended action

Motion to approve the recommendation and allow staff to issue contract, and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the contract with Hartman Civil Construction Company, Inc., under 25Q-125.
