DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County is currently advancing the SW 27th Avenue (CR 475A) at SW 66th Street Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) phase. The PER process includes evaluation of existing and future transportation conditions, identification of operational and safety needs, and development and assessment of improvement alternatives.
As part of the public involvement process, staff and the consultant team have prepared a presentation summarizing the project’s purpose and need, existing conditions, proposed improvement alternatives, preliminary findings, and next steps. The public meeting is anticipated to be held mid-August 2026 and is intended to provide residents, property owners, and stakeholders an opportunity to review project information and provide feedback that will be considered as the PER is finalized. The public meeting material is being presented today for the Board’s consideration and further direction.
Following the public meeting, the PER is to be finalized, and a future meeting will be scheduled for the Board to formally adopt the PER. Construction is targeted to begin in 2027.
