DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of Facilities Management, Procurement advertised a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Animal Services Center Rehabilitation project. The project involves professional design, architectural, engineering, and consulting services for a modern family-friendly Animal Services facility focused on adoption and enrichment for the animals and serving our community. The new building will incorporate all existing functions, offices, storage areas and kennels included within the existing buildings containing 21,339 square feet, with adequate room for growth.
Four (4) submittals were received, evaluated, and scored by Selection Committee members Jim Sweet, Jared Goodspeed, and Mike Savage. Phase II Interviews/Presentations were held with the top three (3) ranked firms, ranking Borrelli & Partners, Inc. as the highest scoring firm. The Board approved the Selection Committee recommendation, with support from Facilities Management Director, Jared Goodspeed, at the April 18, 2023 Board of County Commissioners meeting. At that time, the negotiations team began working with Borrelli & Partners, Inc. to ensure the department’s needs were met and to finalize a comprehensive proposal to be brought back before the Board for approval.
Attached for review is a draft contract; pending approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to Borrelli & Partners, Inc. for signatures and upon return, will be processed for the County Attorney, Clerk, and Chairman’s signatures.
