DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of Marion County Parks & Recreation, Procurement Services solicited bids for soccer field restoration at the Belleview Sportsplex. The project includes removal and replacement of the existing field surface, laser grading, placement of clean fill as needed, and installation of Bermuda grass sod to restore the fields for recreational use. One (1) submittal was received and publicly opened in accordance with County procurement procedures.
Following review of the bid results and subsequent discussions between Parks & Recreation and Procurement Services, it was determined that the submitted bid exceeds the department’s budget. It is in the County’s best interest to reject all bids received and the project be re-advertised to allow for further clarification and refinement of the project scope to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
None; rejecting all bids carries no budget impact.
