DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
In October 2025, an emergency septic pump-out at The Hills of Ocala community center revealed that the system had deteriorated to the point of failure and now requires full replacement. In addition to replacing the septic tank and drain field, excavation and removal of contaminated soil will also be necessary. Because this issue was unforeseen, additional funds are needed in Repair & Maintenance - Buildings & Grounds to address the problem, which is currently affecting residents’ use of the facility. Funds to cover this expense are available through Capital Improvement Funding. This is a non-recurring, one-time issue.
