DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Facilities Management is looking to transfer $75,000 from CIP general funds project FMC000029, JC Parking Garage to CIP general funds project SOC000012, MCSO Training Building.
The parking garage project was budgeted based on a report from the company that originally built the structure. Facilities used that report to generate a scope of work that was advertised through Procurement. The bids received were well below the proposed cost from the original contractor which resulted in surplus funding.
The MCSO training building project scope has increased since the budget was determined. The scope increases include bringing existing unpermitted work up to code, changing the classroom to dimmable lighting, and adding a small HVAC unit to the lobby area in order to address unsatisfactory temperature conditions in that area.
