DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of the Office of the County Engineer (OCE), Procurement Services advertised a bid to resurface both Banyan Road and SE 4th Place/SE 61st Court. The work includes resurfacing the existing pavement, constructing side street and driveway aprons, extending cross drains and adding end treatments, replacing/constructing sidewalk sections and detectable warning surfaces, sodding shoulders, and pavement markings. Two (2) Contractors responded to the bid. County Engineer, Elton Holland, requests to contact with Art Walker Construction, Inc., the lowest responsive bidder based on the tabulation below:

BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; project cost is $599,824. Up to ten percent (10%) may be added to the purchase order in accordance with the procurement manual. Funding from Roads & Street Facilities (BL760541) with a project code of TIP080640 for Banyan Road and Public Improvement Transportation (BO762541) with a project code of TIP075823 for SE 4th Place/SE 61st Street

Motion to approve recommendation and allow staff to issue a contract, and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the Contract with Art Walker Construction, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder for 22B-090.
