DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
An agenda item was brought to the board for approval on July 7, 2026, to transfer $1,000,000, from Surtax Reserves to the Fire Station 9 project, FRC000022. While this was scheduled for the FY 2026-27 budget, the transfer was to expedite the project activities including design, engineering and land acquisition. A recent requisition was submitted to prepare a comprehensive site report, evaluating suitability of a proposed property, to identify site constraints, development considerations, utility availability, environmental conditions, permitting requirements, access etc. Finance rejected the requisition and stated the line for new construction should not be used and instead funding should be transferred to a string specific to land.
