DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The current appropriation for the Communication Services account is insufficient due to rising communication service costs and increased operational demands associated with the County’s 13 communication towers. To address this shortfall, the department has identified available funding within the Utility Services - Electric Water Sewer account of its existing budget. These funds can be reallocated to support Communication Services without negatively impacting ongoing operations.
This request represents a non-recurring budget amendment. It is a one-time reallocation of existing appropriations needed to meet current communication service costs and operational requirements for the County’s tower network. The amendment does not increase the department’s overall budget; rather, it realigns existing funding to maintain the continued operation, maintenance, and reliability of the County’s 13 communication towers, which provide essential support for Public Safety Communications.
