DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), administered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has awarded funding to strengthen the resilience of Marion County Utilities. The grant will support the purchase and installation of five portable generators at designated Water Treatment Plants. This initiative aims to ensure reliable backup power, reducing the risk of disruption to critical infrastructure during severe weather events and other emergencies. The total project cost is $731,442, with a federal share of $548,581.50 and Marion County Utilities contributing $182,860.50.
