DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

Marion County Fire Rescue was awarded grant funding through the executed Federally Funded Subaward and Grant Agreement #R0893 between The Division of Emergency Management, Department of Homeland Security, and Marion County Fire Rescue, in the amount of $116,466. This contract was approved and executed by the Board of County Commissioners on the March 5, 2024 regular meeting (Agenda Item 7.5.4). These funds are required to be expended by September 30, 2025 and are being recognized in the current fiscal year. $46,860 of the funding will be allocated for specialized training and $69,606 will be utilized for Operating Supplies and Machinery and Equipment to purchase state approved equipment for the team. 

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Increase Fire, Rescue and EMS Fund appropriation by $116,466.
