DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On April 6, 2021, the Board approved a contract with Tetra Tech, Inc. for debris monitoring services to oversee debris clearance (first push efforts) during emergency event response periods. These services include conducting damage assessments and monitoring debris clearance activities to facilitate the restoration of essential traffic. The firm has adhered to all terms and conditions of the contract, which include the option to exercise the final renewal extension. On January 13, 2025, the firm submitted a formal request to Procurement Services for a 2.6% increase based on the Consumer Price Index. Following negotiations, both parties reached an agreement on a 1.6% increase.

Steven Cohoon, P.E., County Engineer, recommends the second and final one-year term renewal.

Attached for review is a contract draft. Pending approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to Tetra Tech, Inc. for signatures and upon return, will be forwarded for the County Attorney, Clerk, and Chairman’s signatures.

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

None; approval of this item carries no immediate budget impact; if/when services are required; actual costs will vary depending on the type of disaster and extent of damage that occurs in the County.

Motion to approve the renewal and allow staff to issue the contract and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the contract with Tetra Tech under 21P-060-CA-03.
