DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Fleet Department has received a request for surplus vehicles from Union County in order to assist small counties. As per Administrative Policy 4.3. and Florida State Statutes 274.05, the Board has the discretion to donate equipment to governmental agencies and non-profit entities.
With the current vehicle market, it is difficult to predict what they would bring at auction however, the values noted should be close.
2008 Chevy 3500 Utility Bed well-worn 265K miles, worn but runs and drives adequately, the crane is bad (utility bed). Kelly Blue Book Trade in Value $2,445 - $4,408 as of 1/8/24.
2011 F-450 180K miles, average shape, runs and drives adequately (diesel truck utility bed for signs). Black Book Trade in Value $5,805 - $7,630 as of 1/8/24.

Recommended action
For discussion and consideration of either direct sale based on a defined value or donation of surplus vehicles to Union County.
a) Motion to approve direct sale of vehicles for $8250 to Union County or;
b) Motion to donate surplus vehicles above to Union County.
