DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Following an extensive recruitment and selection process for the position of Public Relations Director, the County conducted a comprehensive review of qualified candidates. The first round of interviews was conducted by a panel consisting of Assistant Director of Library Services Lee Schwartz, Assistant Director of Tourist Development Sky Wheeler, and Director of Municipal Services Chad Wicker. Following the initial interviews, Jovanny Arenas was selected to advance to the second round of the selection process.
Mr. Arenas’ second-round interview was conducted with County Administrator Mounir Bouyounes, Assistant County Administrator Amanda Tart, and Human Resources Director Bobbi Perez. Based on the results of the interview process, it was determined that Mr. Arenas possesses the leadership skills, communications experience, and institutional knowledge necessary to guide the Public Relations Department and continue advancing its success.
This memorandum serves as notification to the Board of County Commissioners of the appointment of Jovanny Arenas as the next Public Relations Director. Mr. Arenas’ annual salary will be $106,849.60. Barring any discussion from the Commission, Mr. Arenas will be considered confirmed.
