DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The attached Room Night Generating Events Funding Program (Program) Guidelines and Application were presented to and approved for recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) by the Tourist Development Council (TDC) on September 23, 2021.
These guidelines were developed in consideration of the evolving tourism offerings in Marion County as well as the competitive nature of attracting tourists to the area through the promotion of events. The Program serves to provide better customer service to the applicants with clear and consistent guidelines and deliverables to receive funding.
Tourist Development staff worked with the County Attorney’s office to ensure compliance with Florida Statute 125.0104.
