DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On June 1, 2021, staff presented a list of proposed categories and recommended focusing on replacing the County’s lost revenue, assisting local businesses and non-for-profit organizations, conducting a broadband feasibility study, and applying the remaining balance towards County water and sewer infrastructure. After discussion, the Board directed staff to bring back a plan for infrastructure projects to include the water and sewer, broadband, and other potentially eligible projects.
Staff proposes the following projects for consideration:
• Broadband Feasibility Study and Allowance for Improvements $ 0.5 MM
• Water Line Extension to State Fire College and School at 329 $ 7.0 MM
• Water Line Extension Program $ 5.0 MM
• Water Line Extensions in Marion Oaks $10.0 MM
• Water and Sewer Line Extensions in Silver Springs Shores $48.5 MM
Total County Projects $71.0 MM
Additional community requests include the following:
• Community Foundation (breakdown attached) $ 8.4 MM
• Ocala/Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership (CEP) $ 2.5 MM
Total Community Requests $10.9+ MM
