DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

Petitions were sent via certified return receipt mail within Quail Creek at the request of the property owners. Those petitions were returned to the Clerk of the Court Internal Audit Department which has provided the following results of the petition count:

 

                     Total Property Owners Petitioned:                                            48

                     Total Owners Responding Timely:                                            39

                     Total Owners Responding in Favor:                                            19 (48.7%)

                     Total Owners Responding Not in Favor:                                            18 (46.2%)

                     Total Owners Responding Invalid:                                              2 (5.1%)

 

                     Percentage of Property Owners Responding in Favor:                      48.7%

 

After the tabulation of the petition results, the MSTU Department was contacted by the two (2) property owners whose petitions were ruled invalid. One (1) property owner indicated their intention was to respond Not in Favor and one (1) property owner indicated their intention was to respond in Favor. 

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

None; all costs associated with this proposed road assessment will be shared by the affected property owners within the property boundary.

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Recommended action

Motion to accept the petitions and approve moving forward with the engineering design phase for the Quail Creek Road Improvement project.
