DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) has been participating in the State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) since 2008. This program provides funding to meet training and equipment needs for the Urban Search and Rescue Task Force (FL TF-8), without any matching funds required. Due to this grant, MCFR has been able to purchase specialized equipment and training for the Special Operations teams which otherwise may not have been possible. Once executed, the agreement provides reimbursable funds available for training and equipment. The total amount of this grant is $163,240.
