DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County received a 2024 legislative appropriation for the NW 49th Street project from NW 70th Avenue (CR 225A) to NW 44th Avenue. The Board of County Commissioners approved the Agreement and supporting Resolution 25-R-266 on August 5, 2025, and returned it to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for execution. The agreement was not executed since FDOT entered its next fiscal year, so the Agreement was revised to reflect the current fiscal year and update the State funding amount. This State-Funded Grant Agreement and supporting resolution authorizes reimbursement of up to $3,500,000 for construction costs associated with this project. The project involves constructing a new 4-lane road from NW 70th Avenue (CR 225A) east to where it meets the existing NW 49th Street; the existing section of NW 49th Street (approximately 0.5 miles) is to be widened from 2-lanes to 4-lanes for the remainder of the project to NW 44th Avenue.
