DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

This is a request for approval and execution of a resolution declaring that a public hearing be held to consider a petition made by Anthony P. Mendola to close and abandon a portion of SE 136th Court within the Lake Weir-Beach Section (Plat Book C, Page 54) and to renounce and disclaim any right of the County and the general public.

 

The petition identifies the roadway as not currently open or constructed.

 

At the time of publication of this agenda item, the Development Review Committee (DRC) has not considered the road closure request. The request is scheduled for consideration by the DRC on September 14, 2026. The DRC’s recommendation for approval or denial will be provided to the Board at the October 20, 2026, public hearing.

Motion to adopt and authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute a resolution declaring a public hearing date on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. or soon thereafter in the McPherson Governmental Campus Auditorium.
