DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of Marion County Utilities (MCU), Procurement advertised a bid seeking qualified and experienced contractors for constructing, developing, and performance testing four (4) new public-supply potable water wells. Three (3) of the new wells will be replacing old potable wells that have failed and will be properly abandoned in a future phase of this project.

MCU staff recommend AC Shultes of Florida d/b/a/ Rowe Drilling (Rowe) receive the award as the lowest, most responsive, and most responsible bidder.
Attached for review is a contract draft. Upon approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to Rowe for signatures. Once returned, it will be forwarded to Legal, the Clerk, and Chairman for execution.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; expenditure of $1,377,950. Up to 10% contingency may be added to the purchase order in accordance with the Procurement Manual. Funding is from ZF448536-563102 (Utilities Capital Construct).

Motion to approve the recommendation and allow staff to issue a contract and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the contract under 26B-081.
