DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Marion County Parks & Recreation Department needs to transfer funds into professional services, repairs and maintenance building & grounds, and improvements - Capital Improvement Project (CIP) for an increase for multiple asset replacement projects throughout the park system.
The department recently presented to the Board of County Commissioners regarding the current status of its asset replacement initiatives. During the discussion, specific underfunded items were highlighted, and the Board expressed their willingness to assist with these needs. The funding program will include structural assessments for various assets, safety sports netting at athletic fields, erosion stabilization at several pavilions, and repairs to a sports field score tower.
This funding transfer will enable the Department to undertake multiple projects throughout the park system, enhancing the overall customer experience within the parks.
