DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to Resolution 20-R-243, the County previously entered into Supplemental Joint Participation Agreement Number 2 (SJPA2) with the Florida Department of Transportation - Aviation (FDOT) providing for grant funds to pay 80% of the total project cost to construct twenty (20) T-Hangars at the Marion County Airport. The total project cost was $958,210 of which FDOT offered funding in the amount of $766,568. Marion County was responsible for 20% of the total project cost, which is $191,642.
FDOT has awarded an additional grant funded through a Public Transportation Grant Agreement in the amount of $1,500,000 to assist Marion County in addressing project cost increases; total FDOT grant awarded $2,266,568. The total project cost to complete this project is $2,813,923. FDOT is providing grant funding for 80% of this cost, which is $2,203,938. Marion County is required by FDOT to pay a match of 20% of this cost, which is $609,985. Marion County is also responsible for paying $47,204 which is the residual expense associated with the design of the former Quad Box Hangar project.
As with previous grant agreements with FDOT, a Resolution authorizing the Chairman to execute said grant agreement is required as part of the grant approval process.
