DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County Building Services requests approval to piggyback Hardee County’s contract with Joe Payne, Inc., d/b/a JPI, for plans review and inspection services.
Building Services has a current contract with Willdan Engineering, Inc. for plans review and inspection services and is wanting to add JPI to ensure continuity and consistency of plans review services.
Attached for review and approval is the Piggyback Contract and Solicitation Waiver. Upon approval at today’s meeting, the Solicitation Waiver will be presented to the Chairman for signatures. The Piggyback Contract will be sent to JPI for signature and once returned will be forwarded to the County Attorney, Clerk, and Chairman for signatures.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; estimated expenditure of $500,000. Funding is from line EP318524-534101 (Building Inspections).

Recommended action
Motion to approve the Piggyback Contract and authorize the Chairman to execute the Solicitation Waiver as well as allow staff to issue the contract to Joe Payne, Inc., d/b/a JPI, and upon approval from Legal, authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the contact under 27PB-009.
