INITIATOR:

DEPARTMENT:

Susan Olsen, Director

Procurement Services

DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On November 1, 2022, Marion County Fire rescue (MCFR) sought approval to utilize Lake County’s competitively awarded Contract 22-730K with Ten-8 Fire and Safety, LLC., for the procurement of essential fire equipment, including boots, gloves and tools. This contract, initially effective through July 31, 2023, with provisions for two additional one-year renewals, was accepted by both parties. The first amendment, extending the agreement through July 31, 2025, was approved by the Board August 15, 2023.

This Second Contract Amendment is being presented to the Board for consideration, aligning with Lake County’s renewed contract, extending the term through July 31, 2027.

Attached for review is a copy of the County’s contract along with Lake County’s contract and all subsequent modifications which harmonize with the master agreement currently in place. This piggyback agreement is structured to automatically renewal, ensuring uninterrupted access to vital Fire Service Equipment. All other terms and conditions of the original agreement remain in effect. Upon approval at today’s meeting, the amendment will be presented to the Chairman and Clerk for signatures.

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Neutral; expenditure is estimated at $80,000 annually, however, this will vary based on the actual need for services. Marion County Fire Rescue will pay for services necessary during the term and total expenditure will not exceed funds approved in each year’s budget without being brough back before the Board for approval.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Recommended action

Motion to approve the Second Contract Amendment to renew the piggyback agreement with Ten-8 Fire and Safety, LLC., including future automatic renewal provisions consistent with Lake County contract, and authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the agreement under 23PB-021.
