DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of Parks and Recreation, Procurement advertised a bid for ADA sidewalk improvements at the Ocala Rotary Sportsplex Babe Ruth baseball fields. The project includes the construction of ADA compliant concrete sidewalks, reinforced concrete sidewalks, and handicap parking spaces. Seven (7) contractors submitted bids; the tabulation is below:

The low bid is within the estimated budget of $150,000 and Parks and Recreation Director, Jim Couillard, recommends Algat Enterprises, Inc. receive the award. Attached for review is a draft contract; pending approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to Algat Enterprises for signature and upon return, will be forwarded for the County Attorney’s, Clerk’s, and Chairman’s signatures.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; project shall not exceed $108,600; up to ten percent (10%) contingency may be added to the purchase order per the Procurement Manual.

Motion to approve recommendation and allow staff to issue contract, and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman to execute contract with Algat Enterprises, Inc., the lowest responsive bidder for 21B-239.
