DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of 9-1-1 Management, Procurement advertised a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Communications Voice, Data and Logging Recorder System. The purpose of this system is to record videos, pictures, text, and what is said for the public safety communications professionals in the course of their official duties. The system will be located at Public Safety Communications, Ocala Police Department, and the Emergency Back-up PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point). This purchase includes annual payments of $70,230.50 for four (4) years of extended warranty coverage beyond the first year. Two (2) firms submitted proposals, which were evaluated by Selection Committee members Michelle Hirst, Al Gordon, Julie Pache, Craig Damien, and Carol McCurdy. Marion County 9-1-1 Management Director, Michelle Hirst, supports the Selection Committee recommendation to contract with Word Systems, Inc. Attached for review is a draft of the contract; pending approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to Word Systems for signature and upon return, will be forwarded for the County Attorney’s, Clerk’s, and Chairman’s signatures.
