DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The State of Florida filed an action with a number of Florida Cities and Counties regarding National Prescription Opiate Litigation Number 2804 which the City of Ocala and Marion County participated in. As a result, on March 1, 2022, the Board approved an Interlocal Agreement for expenditures of regional opioid settlement funds with the City of Ocala.
On June 13, 2024 the Regional Opioid Settlement Committee established, per the Interlocal Agreement, the approved 2024-25 Marion County Regional Opioid Abatement Plan. Staff recommends board approval to submit to the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Recommended action
Motion to approve submission to DCF of the 2024-25 Marion County Regional Opioid Abatement Plan, and authorize the Chair and Clerk to execute all necessary documents associated with the plan.
