The current expenditure budget appropriation is inadequate because the long-term disability premiums ended up being higher than what was originally budgeted. To address this need, funds have been identified from the Reserves for Self-Insurance Claims account, which is specifically maintained to cover situations where claims or premiums exceed budgeted amounts. This is expected to be a non-recurring issue, as this payment represents the final bill for the fiscal year.
