DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

During the meeting on December 5, 2006, the Board approved an interlocal agreement between Marion County and the City of Ocala for disposal of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Household Electronic Waste (E-Waste) for the City of Ocala residents.

A second amendment and renewal were approved on June 21, 2011, and a third amendment and renewal were approved on September 14, 2021.

Since approval of the third amendment and renewal the County has incurred increased costs in the processing and transport of the City’s HHW and E-Waste. Moving forward, both parties have agreed that during the fourth renewal term of the agreement the fee paid to the County will be evaluated on an annual basis and adjusted utilizing CPI for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U).

Motion to approve and authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the fourth amendment and renewal of the interlocal agreement between Marion County and City of Ocala for disposal of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Household Electronic Waste (E-Waste) for the City of Ocala residents.
