DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Solid Waste Department requests approval to terminate two longstanding agreements with G2 Energy (Marion), LLC (G2), contract 06P-002 and contract 17Q-001, relating to Baseline Landfill Gas Utilization and associated control, repair and maintenance services, effective November 1, 2025. These agreements, originally executed in 2006 and 2017, have been amended numerous times over their duration. G2 had external agreements which ended in 2023. Since that time, Marion County has been managing the landfill gas through its flare system. Both parties have determined that contract termination is the most practical and beneficial course of action. Under the termination terms, G2 will remove all above ground infrastructure within ten (10) months of the effective date. All components necessary for Marion County to maintain permit compliance will remain in place. Additionally, G2 will continue repair and maintenance services for two (2) months, at which time Marion County will assume those responsibilities.
Attached is a vendor-signed copy of the termination agreement and an approved LRM from the County Attorney. Upon approval at today’s meeting, this agreement will be presented to the Chairman and Clerk for signature.
