DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of the Office of the County Engineer (OCE), Procurement advertised a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for qualified firms in Stormwater Engineering Design. Services include updating existing watershed management plans and models, developing preliminary engineering reports related to stormwater projects, design of new stormwater conveyance, storage and treatment facilities, design of retrofits for existing stormwater management facilities to enhance water quality, and other general engineering services (peer review of plans or calculations, construction inspections, shop drawing review, attending project status review meetings, etc.)
A total of nine (9) firms were received and thoroughly evaluated by the Selection Committee members (Alejandro Rad, Kevin Vickers, and Nannette Diaz). Following interviews, the Selection Committee recommended (6) firms for consideration. Steven Cohoon, County Engineer, recommends awarding the six (6) top ranked firms. The negotiations team worked with the firms to establish a common classification table and fee schedule. The term will be for three (3) years with two (2) optional two (2) year renewals; pending mutual agreement by both parties.
Attached for review is a copy of a draft contract for review. Following approval at today’s meeting, identical contracts will be sent to all firms for signature and upon return, will be forwarded to the County Attorney, Clerk, and Chairman for signatures.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
None; projects which exceed $50,000 will be brought back before the Board as a separate project amendment with a detailed scope and fee schedule for review and final approval.

Motion to approve recommendation and allow staff to issue contracts, and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman to execute the contracts with all firms above under RFQ 26Q-033.
