DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

The Southeast Disaster Debris Management Site no. 104867 is permitted as a Marion County debris management site and is owned and operated by Marion County’s debris contractor. The contractor also holds a contract with the City of Belleview and has designated a separate and clearly defined area within the site exclusively for storm debris generated within the City of Belleview. Debris originating from the City is managed independently and is not co-mingled with material collected for Marion County.

 

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has requested that Marion County provide a signed agreement to acknowledge approval for the City of Belleview to use the site.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Recommended action

Motion to authorize the Chairman to execute the requested agreement from DEP acknowledging Marion County’s approval for the City of Belleview to utilize the disaster debris management site.
