DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On March 5, 2025, the Board approved a contract with Trademark Metal Recycling LLC to purchase scrap metal collected at the recycling centers and the Baseline Landfill. On behalf of Solid Waste, Procurement is requesting approval of an amendment to the existing agreement to add aluminum wheels and chrome wheels as accepted commodities under the master contract. This modification establishes pricing for these materials based on the London Metal Exchange (LME) Cash price per pound on the date of delivery, less a per-pound differential for each material type. The amendment also requires that aluminum and chrome wheels be separated by material type and be free of lead wheel weights and valve stems prior to delivery, with the County responsible for removal of these items. All other terms and conditions of the original agreement remain in full force and effect.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Revenue; estimated additional $50,000, bringing the estimated annual revenue to $700,000.

Motion to approve and allow staff to issue the contract amendment, and upon approval from Legal, authorize the Clerk and Chairman to execute the contract amendment with Trademark Metal Recycling LLC under 25B-048.
