DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On behalf of the Utilities Department, Procurement advertised a bid seeking qualified contractors to perform operation and maintenance improvements at the Southwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility.

 

The project includes demolition of the existing blowers and preparation for the new blower area, installation of new blowers (provided by Marion County Utilities), demolition of the chlorine contact hydro-pneumatic tank and valve, and all associated electrical and instrumentation modifications.

 

Three (3) submittals were received; the tabulation is listed below:

Utilities staff recommend SGS Contracting Services, Inc., receive the award as the lowest, most responsive, and most responsible bidder.

 

Attached for review is a contract draft and, pending approval at today's meeting, it will be sent to SGS Contracting Services, Inc. for signatures. Upon return, it will be forwarded to Legal, the Clerk, and Chairman for execution.

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Neutral; expenditure of $993,700. Up to 10% contingency may be added to the purchase order in accordance with the Procurement Manual. Funding is available from ZF448536-562102-UTC000101 (Marion County Utility Fund)

Motion to approve the recommendation and allow staff to issue a contract and, upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the contract under 26B-103.
