DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Ordinance Number 21-13 was adopted to create the Heather Island Market Center Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) for General Maintenance and Capital Improvements. The proposed assessment will fund ongoing maintenance activities within the MSBU, including mowing and maintaining the right-of-way areas and drainage retention areas. The assessment will also support the accumulation of funds for a future road overlay on the privately maintained roads, as required by the Land Development Code. Today’s action is the final step and is to consider adoption of a resolution authorizing a $500 per-acre assessment for the Heather Island Market Center MSBU for General Maintenance and Capital Improvements and to certify the assessment roll to the Tax Collector.
