DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
In June 2021, the Board approved the creation of a dedicated Vendor Liaison position within Marion County Procurement Services. This role was established to strengthen collaboration and communication with our vendor community.
Mauria Strawder, who has been with Marion County since November 2021 and transitioned from Staff Assistant III to Business Services Specialist, now serves as the Vendor Liaison. Her experience in Procurement over the past two years has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the department and vendor needs.
The Vendor Liaison’s primary goals for 2025 are as follows:
• Create events for vendor interaction with agencies
• Create an informed vendor base
• Grow the local vendor directory
• Create stronger social media presence
• Improve collaboration with other agencies
Through these objectives, the Vendor Liaison role aims to contribute to Marion County's overall success by fostering positive vendor relationships and supporting high standards of service. Mauria will present an overview of her strategic goals and vision for vendor relations in the coming year.
