DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Additional funds are needed in two (2) Solid Waste GL accounts.
The first is the GL account for the hauling service of waste from the Baseline transfer station to the Heart of Florida landfill. This GL account was budgeted for the transportation of 185,844 tons. Solid Waste is currently trending higher than the budgeted amount and is projected to transport an estimated 195,000 tons for FY 2023-24.
Funds are also needed in the GL account for fleet repairs and maintenance. Solid waste incurred additional costs for repairs to the heavy equipment loader. These repairs consisted of foam filling one set of loader tires and acquiring a second set of solid rubber tires ahead of schedule.
Excess funds are available in GL accounts contract services other miscellaneous (Solid Waste Collection) and contract services hazardous waste other (Solid Waste Disposal).
This is a one-time change.
