DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Marion County Airport is closing out the T-Hangar Construction Project MAC00005 and MAC202403 and transferring the remaining available local funds to the Airport Parallel Taxiway Runway 5-23 Project (MAC202202C), also referred to as Taxiway A. The T-Hangar Construction Project was completed on February 14, 2023, providing 20 new T-hangars to meet the airport's continued demand for aircraft storage. The remaining local funds of $4,495, will be transferred to the Airport Parallel Taxiway Runway 5-23 Project (MAC202202C) to increase the airport's available local funding in anticipation of a potential pipe material change that is currently under review by the Federal Aviation Association (FAA) and Federal Department of Transportation (FDOT). The Airport Hangar Improvements Project was completed under budget, with all project costs paid and the FDOT grant fully reimbursed. As a result, $17,804 in remaining local match funds are no longer needed for the completed project and are available for reallocation. Transferring these funds now ensures they are available should additional local match be needed during construction. Additional funding is provided through FAA reimbursement received under Airport Improvement Program Grant No. 3-12-0147-009-2024 for eligible environmental permitting and recipient site costs associated with the Airport Parallel Taxiway Runway 5-23 Project (MAC202202C).
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Increase Marion County Airport Fund appropriation by $298,100.
