DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On August 3, 2021, the Board approved the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-2022 Annual Action Plan for Community Services which is associated with the FY 2019-2024 Five (5) Year Consolidated Plan.
Habitat for Humanity applied to the Community Service’s Notice of Funding Available for the HOME Investment Partnership Program, to construct four (4) new single-family homes for qualified low-income families. This project supports the goals established in the Five (5) Year Consolidated plan and associated Annual Action Plans to increase Essential Housing. Habitat continues to be the County’s Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO), a mandatory type of organization required under the HOME program.
Habitat will construct four (4) single-family homes for qualified low-income families on parcels 2301-005-033, 2333-001-009, 9016-0230-10, and 9025-0645-64.
In accordance with HOME regulations, as found in 24-Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part-92, each newly built home is required to have a recorded mortgage against the property to ensure the property remains affordable for a minimum of fifteen (15) years.
