DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On September 19, 2023, the Board approved a contract with Wyatt Construction & Boring, Inc. for horizontal directional drilling services in support of in-house water main installation projects through Marion County Utilities (MCU).
Wyatt Construction & Boring, Inc. has performed the services satisfactorily and professionally. MCU recommends exercising the first of three available annual renewal terms, extending the contract through September 30, 2027.
Attached for review is the draft contract amendment. Following approval at today’s meeting, the amendment will be sent to the contractor for execution. Once returned, it will be sent to Legal, the Clerk and Chairman signatures.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; estimated annual expenditure of $504,000 is based on unit pricing and will vary based on the number and size of projects completed in each FY. Total annual expenditure will not exceed funds approved in each year’s budget without being brought back before the Board.

Motion to approve and allow staff to issue contract, and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the contract with Wyatt Construction & Boring, Inc. under 23B-183.
