DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On June 15, 2021, the Board approved a contract with Trautman’s Painting LLC to prep and paint all exterior surfaces at Stonecrest and Oak Run Wastewater Treatment Facilities, including block buildings, exterior exposed piping, and tanks. Purchase Order 2100997 was issued for $192,610. Change Order 1 requests approval to add $13,900 to the project to cover the cost of a two-part adhesive sealant for the two (2) steel tanks at Stonecrest Waste Water Treatment Facility (WWTF). Because these tanks are steel, the Tnemec paint supplier’s representative is requiring the use of an adhesive sealant (primer) to create a bond between the steel and the paint and 156 Tnemec finish sealer, after an inspection of the newly painted surfaces revealed an adhesion issue. Sealing (or priming) the steel portion of the tanks was not part of the original agreement.
Pending approval at today’s meeting, the change order will be presented for the Clerk’s and Chairman’s signatures.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; additional cost for the two-part sealant is $13,900, bringing the project’s total cost to $206,510.
