DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

At the Medical Examiner Advisory Committee quarterly meeting held on February 9, 2022, the committee voted to approve rate changes for various services provided by the District 5/24 Medical Examiner.

 

In 2014, an agreement was approved by the Board authorizing RTI Donor Services to use the Medical Examiner facility for procurement of tissues. This agreement was then assigned to Lions Eye Institute in 2019. There have been no changes in fees since 2019 and the proposed amendment adjusts the following fees based on increased cost of services.

 

                     Facility use fee for cornea procurement changes from $175 to $225.

                     Facility use fee for all other tissue procurement changes from $750 to $1,000.

Motion to approve and authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the First Amendment to Facility Agreement.
