DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County receives settlement funds from the State of Florida's lawsuit against manufacturers, dispensers, and distributors of opioids. When initially created, Marion County created a single fund for the deposit and expenditure of Opioid Funds. Upon additional guidance, it was determined that the Court Settlement should be separated into two funds, regional and county, for tracking purposes. The attached amendments will true-up both funds by first recognizing all revenues that have not been budgeted but have been received this fiscal year, and secondly by transferring the county share of prior year revenues and the pro-rata interest from the Opioid Regional Fund to the Opioid County Fund.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Increase Opioid Regional Settlement Fund appropriation by $1,712,062 and increase Opioid County Settlement Fund appropriation by $1,395,373.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
